This is a Three credit course offered in the Master of Arts in Development and Public Policy in the  2nd year of the programme.

This course unit explores the relevance of the contemporary political philosophy to study the public policy. Hence, it is a journey through political thought and its practice in the domain of the state policy making and its application. In this course, the students are introduced into the political thought of 11 thinkers whose ideas have inspired and helped policy makers analyze and rethink the state practices and issues therein. The course requires students to read some of the introductory chapters/readings on each thinker and introduces the basic/main concepts and theories in their philosophies.
