The study of kinship, family and marriage practices form a core area of anthropological work. This course examines the evolution of kinship studies in anthropology and how gender and feminist studies as well as new reproductive technologies have generated a renewed interest in kinship studies. It also explore changes in marriage and family in the Sri Lankan context.
