Penology I is a core subject of the LL.M in Criminal Justice Administration degree programme. The credit weightage of this subject is 3. It is a first year subject and a compulsory subject. The course aims to provide students with a through knowledge on the Penology and corrections with a comprehensive understanding of concepts and theoretical perspectives on formal reactions to crime and delinquency. To make aware of the historical evolution of systems of corrections and punishments' in selected nations and historical periods is also another important objective of this course.
