Criminology is a core subject of the LL.M in Criminal Justice Administration degree programme and the credit weightage of this subject is 3. It is a first year subject and a compulsory subject. The objectives of this course unit are to make students aware of: Origin and development of criminology as a scientific discipline, Criminological research methods, Classical and modern theories of crime, The measurement of crime, Types of crime and delinquency, Criminals and criminal justice systems, Social reaction to crime.
